Student Activism

Are you interested in making a difference in your community? Do you want to bring an end to gender discrimination and gender-based violence? We’re looking for students with a passion for making change and those who are keen to make a difference. We want to hear your voice.

If you would like to get involved in working to end sexual violence and helping to make Moray a safer place, you can sign up to our mailing list for more information about our activism group, or come and see us at UHI Moray on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 5th December at 4pm-5pm - Online Consent Workshop
  • Tuesday 12th December at 10am-12pm - Festive Gathering in the AGBC
  • Wednesday 13th December at 1230pm-230pm - 'Let's Chat Consent and Sexual Health' with NHS Healthpoint in the AGBC Community Hub

Sign up to our mailing list via the link above, on the right-hand side of the screen or bottom of the page on mobile.

Get your local representatives involved

You can make a difference by speaking your MP, local MSPs or councillors. Your representatives work for you. If you want to see something change in your community your representatives might be able to help.

Encourage them to speak up about gender-based violence and support their local rape crisis service.

You can find out more about who your representatives are, what MSPs do and how to contact them on the Scottish Parliament website and the Moray Council website

Rape Crisis Scotland are campaigning to extend emergency funding to reduce waiting list times. When a survivor reaches out for that support, they need to receive it then. Not weeks or months later. Write to your MSP to tell them that Survivors Can't Wait.

More information on the campaign and a draft letter to send to your MSPs on the campaign page here.
