Knowing more can help with understanding sexual violence, and what to do about it.
Consent
Any sexual activity between two people should always involve equal agreement. If you have ever experienced sexual violence, you did not cause it and you are not to blame.
You are not alone
It may not feel like it, but you are not alone. There are people who want to help.
If you don’t want to speak to someone local, you can phone or email the Rape Crisis Scotland helpline. It’s open every day. You might not want to talk to anyone for now. There are things you can do to help yourself, which other survivors have found helpful.
If you go to the information section of our site you can find some ideas to help with common effects of sexual violence and ways to feel better in yourself.
